Aventura was originally contracted to be built at Danish Yacht in Denmark, a part of the Royal Denship consortium. During the construction Danish Yacht separated from the Denship group and under their own banner launched the yacht in 2005. Aventura was then taken to Holland where she was revised and completed by Holland Jachtbouw in the spring of 2006.
Aventurawas built to and holds a MCA Certificate of Compliance for Large Commercial Sailing & Motor Vessels issued by the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry.
The design brief for Aventura was to create a world cruising yacht for a young family. Safety and comfort were the two most important qualities.Beauty, flexibility and ease followed suit.In true Fontaine style, Aventura provides the owner with classic beauty married to modern technology. The centerboard gives access in coastal waters where other sister ships dare not tread. The push-button rig and fold-down stern ease the interface between wind and water. The flow of the yacht with three entrance/exits, an on-deck salon and a raised salon, plus 4 staterooms aft for owner and guests offer the maximum living potential for a yacht that can be handled by only four crew.Aventura is ready now for gunkholing or world cruising...as you like.
Accommodation
The single level deck is easy to get around and getting to and from the water is a breeze thanks to the opening counter stern with steps to the water. The helmsman from a central station sees easily over the pilothouse; though contained in a separate area, the helmsman can converse easily with guests eating or lounging in the comfortable cockpit.
The pilothouse/deck salon provides a panoramic view and light, light, light! To port a dining table seats 8; to starboard is the interior helm station and a conversation area tucked in the aft corner. Wide stairs lead elegantly to a raised salon. The pilothouse windows span of the salon; in addition portlights permit light and view, producing spectacular natural light in this living area..A large table to port surrounded by full settees enhances the dining experience.A temperature controlled wine cellar and cabinets for cutlery and china provide ease in service. The starboard side offers a full-length couch and two armchairs which have direct view to the large flatscreen TV which electrically lifts from inside the dining settee back.
Continuing aft, you go down steps to a foyer announcing the guest quarters. To port is a linen locker and the engine room door; to starboard a door opens to a small guest cabin, or nanny's cabin. It has bunk beds, storage and direct access to a bathroom with shower, double sinks, toilet and plenty of storage. This bath also has direct access to the starboard guest stateroom. Both the starboard and port guest staterooms have twin beds with a bureau between, plus a Pullman berth.Drawers under beds, hanging locker and shelves provide good storage. The port guest stateroom also has an ensuite bath.
Continuing aft, the master stateroom's offset queen bed to port creates a practical, spacious office area to starboard. It is U shaped with plenty of desk surface, cabinets and a chair. The master bath to starboard has a shower with large seat, toilet, two separate sinks and grooming areas. On the bulkhead opposite the bed is the flatscreen TV which hides in a cabinet when not in use. Storage is bountiful.Steps lead to the owners' private entry/exit to the aft deck.
Forward of the main salon, a door leads to the galley and crew mess. Galley to port is U shaped with double stainless steel sinks, two ovens, microwave, dishwasher, cooktop, refrigerator with spigots for ice, crushed ice and filtered drinking water at your fingertips. A garbage disposal and trash compactor aid in long trips. The crew mess to starboard has table for 4 with settees on each side.Storage is ingenious: the table top lifts up to uncover storage space while the back of the settee uncovers a double freezer hidden in the bulkhead. The "entertainment center" includes TV, DVD and CD plus the Bjorge Moland and B&G monitors. Continuing forward is the laundry, steps for crew access to deck, and a foyer leading to two crew cabins. To port is the captain's cabin with double bed, storage and ensuite head with stall shower, toilet and sink. From the foyer forward to starboard is the crew cabin with a double bed on the bottom and single above with ensuite head identical to skipper's head.
Interior is rich teak punctuated with classic contrasting white. Soothing marble and wood grace the baths. Hatches have mosquito and blackout screens. In addition to the natural light, lighting is ambient/mood as well as task oriented. For example all rooms have reading lights, courtesy lighting and overhead lights .As an alternative to air conditioning, ventilation is through hatches or fresh air can be distributed throughout the yacht by the Make-Up Air system. The sum of these parts adds up to a yacht that is comfortable and beautiful. Aventura is so easy to use and enjoy!
