Description
One of the best things about working at RK Motors Charlotte is the rare and unique vehicles I get to see every day and this Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 convertible with the SLP performance package is no exception. Produced in 2002, the last year of the fourth generation Camaro, this car is essentially a new car that has been carefully tucked away in someones personal collection for almost 9 years. And with only 34 miles on the odometer, it doesnt get much more original than this.
Nicely equipped from the factory, here is this cars window sticker break down:

SLP build number 9854, this commemorative 35th Anniversary Camaro comes with factory Rally Red paint that is as clean and perfect as the day it rolled into the Connell Chevrolet showroom in Costa Mesa California. And the flawless power convertible top, which includes a glass rear window, has never even seen a drop of rain. Up front, the aggressive Camaro nose features factory fresh headlights and a high gloss SS grille insert courtesy of the folks at SLP. On the sides of the car, spotless traditional black SS emblems nicely complement the black convertible top and high gloss grille insert. At the rear of the car, a subtle but effective Camaro SS rear spoiler is enhanced by factory fresh tail lights and SLPs center mounted exhaust outlets and rear bumper valence. Optional 17 inch 10 spoke aluminum wheels ride on OEM Goodyear Eagle 275/40/17 F1 radials to complete the look.
From new carpet to new seats and everything in between, this car seems like it came off the assembly line and was promptly sealed in a time capsule. The Ebony leather interior shows no signs of wear and makes me wonder if anyone has ever enjoyed more than five minutes of seat time in this car. Major options include: a six way power driver seat, power mirrors, power door locks, power windows, and a tilt column complete with wheel mounted audio controls and intermittent wipers. A factory Monsoon sound system features a 12 disc CD changer, an amplifier and 8 speakers throughout the interior which do their best to drown out the SLP exhaust. Above the controls for the factory Monsoon sound system, is a prominently displayed dash plaque that commemorates the Camaros 35th anniversary. An optional and fun Hurst short throw shifter keeps the comfortable cockpit connected to the world class powertrain via a 6-speed transmission. Not installed on this car but included in the sale are a Camaro SS dash plaque and a Camaro SS deck mat from SLP.
Cosmetic enhancements and optional interior luxuries aside, this Camaro is still first and foremost a performance machine. Despite continuous upgrades throughout the model run to make the car more user friendly, the cars best attribute is going fast. GMs LS1 V8 is one of the most incredible V8s ever offered and the technology is still featured in virtually all of GMs performance cars today. The overhead valve design makes big horsepower and produces a torque band thats as wide and flat as Kansas. Equipped from the factory with 325hp, the SLP stainless steel exhaust bumps that power up to a Corvette matching 345 and delivers it with a throaty growl. With that kind of power its pretty obvious that this car will do very well in a straight line. But unlike Camaros of the past, the fourth generation can also handle some serious curves. The huge 275/40/17 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and a performance-tuned suspension provide major grip in the corners and powerful ABS equipped 4 wheel disc brakes are on hand to slow things down in a hurry. Be careful though; having a car this capable with this much power is so much fun that it could pose a serious threat to the status of your license.
Included in this sale is documentation from both Chevrolet and SLP. The Chevrolet documents include: the original build sheet from GMs St. Therese manufacturing facility, the original window sticker from Connell Chevrolet and the original Chevrolet factory owners manual. The SLP documents include: an SLP Camaro SS dash plaque with 2 matching key fobs, the original window sticker from SLP, a 2002 SLP Performance catalogue and a 2002 SLP Performance price list.
Looking back on the long history of the Camaro, theres little doubt that this final Anniversary Edition is one of the fastest, best-handling and most collectable Camaros of all time. Whether youre a serious Camaro collector or just want a showroom fresh car that exhibits the best of everything from GMs fourth generation pony car, youve come to the right place. Call today!
