History of Car
Imported from America in 1989. The car had done 94,392 miles and had spent a lot of the time off the
road. It was sold July 1996 to a Corvette enthusiast who wanted to restore it back to its original
splendour. At this time it had done 99,700 miles.
The car was completely dismantled and the body taken off of the chassis in August 1996. It was
restored over a period of 18 months below is a list of the restoration.
Chassis
• Dismantled, Sand blasted, Primed, Painted in Two Pack Matt Black
• All Rubber Joints Replaced
• All Ball Joints & UJ’s Replaced
• New Fuel & Brake Lines
Engine
• Completely Dismantled
• All Parts Replaced or Restored (See history for invoices for parts & labour)
• Tri Power Carburetor Restored Year & Numbers Matching (Obtained from USA)
• Turbo Hydramatic 3 Speed Auto Restored
• All engine bay parts including radiator hoses etc (too many to list – see invoices for parts
used)
• All electrics restored or replaced (See invoices for parts used)
Body
• Striped to Gel Coat, Primered & Painted
• Complete Car Parts either replaced or restored to as new condition
• All chrome either replaced or restored to as new condition
• All rubbers, weather strip & window strip replaced or restored to as new condition

The Car was put back on the road in June 1997. In that same year it was taken to The Corvette
Owners Club and won Best of Show. It also won at the next two shows. It covered 4319 miles since
the total restoration. It was then sold again in October 2002.
For the next six years it covered 3000 miles and was stored in a special centrally heated garage and
only taken to shows or the occasional day out.

March 2008 with 7474 miles on the clock
• Re‐spray car to original colour
• Replace carpets & mats (did not like colour)

• Replaced radiators core
• Add small fan

2009 the car was MOT

A specialist serviced the car by take the engine out of the car, strip it and rebuild it, replacing any parts that needed to change but only to use proper restoration Corvette parts.

November 2010
Sent it to a Corvette awarding restoration specialist. The follow work was completed.

• New 70x15" Bridgestone Super Wide White Walled Tires
March 2011 It had completed 12890 miles and passed the MOT

The car is now fully restored to show condition and has 14,676 Miles
since total restoration.
