Description
One of my favorite body styles in the world is the 1971 Dodge Charger. In my eternal search for nice Chargers, I run across a lot of sub-standard cars. Cars with butchered, messed up bodies, that creak groan when driven. Ill be the first to say it. Every now then I run across a truly exceptional Charger that I cant pass up. This 1971 Charger 500 SE is just such a car. This is a real, rare, original 1971 Charger 500 SE 383 4-Speed with Original Factory A/C Car (A/C parts missing). This incredible machine is 1 of 187 built. It was once owned by Don and Frank Imus, of Imus in the Morning radio and TV fame. This clean Arizona and Texas car has been newly painted in high dollar Viper Red paint by Hot Rods USA in Texas. It is clean, straight and rust free. Even the underside is so clean you could eat off of it. Over $60,000 was invested in the recent restoration. This Charger has been transformed into a street sleeper. Under the 1971 Rally hood with insert, you will find a build 72 440 with a ton of good aftermarket parts. The detailed engine bay features ported 906 heads, a nice DC 509 cam and a new aluminum radiator. The original plan was to put in a monster Hemi Stroker, but the previous owner decided not to. It is still set up for that if you wanted to take on a project. Stuffed full of desirable options, including power steering, factory A/C, new chrome bumpers, and hard to find 71 R/T louvered tail lights, this nicely appointed 1971 SE is truly a gentlemans hot rod. The interior is all new, featuring black leather, the Rally dash with tach and an AM radio. You will also find the original fender tags. The restoration included all new front and rear suspension, all new front and rear springs, and new 3 custom exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. This Charger has the original matching numbers transmission, a new clutch, and a 3:55 posi rear end. She stops on a dime thanks to its all new power disc brakes! This Charger rolls on all new American racing Torque Thrust Classics 15x7 front and rear, and BF Goodrich 265x60 15s in the rear and 235 70s up front. The end result is absolutely stunning. If you are a Charger fan like me, this 1971 represents the best of all worlds. First, it is a super clean and rare Mopar that works the way it should. Second, its got a legitimate big-block drive train, done right, but not with the big block drive train cost. Lastly, this is simply a gorgeous car that is a joy to show and drive. For someone seeking a 1971 Dodge Charger to show and drive for years, this car is THE perfect solution! Give me a call Today we are overseas experts as well. Tom 248-974-9513
