Description
This 1972 Ferrari 246 GT Dino . It is equipped with a 5 Speed Manual transmission. The vehicle is Red with a Black Vinyl interior. It is offered As-Is, not covered by a warranty. - 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Chassis No. 03502 Named for Enzo Ferraris son, Alfredino, the Dino was dimensionally smaller and more nimble than any other street Ferrari previously offered. Its mid-placed engine was a Ferrari first for a street car, while the quad cam V6 was a soulful engine that capitalized on Ferraris racing experience gained from building racing V6s. Styling was of course by Pininfarina, and the Dino has long been a favorite among Ferrari enthusiasts thanks to its beautiful lines and proportions, lovely engine, and balanced chassis. Chassis 03502 is the ultimate drivers Dino! This well-documented, US Spec Dino was produced in March of 1972 and sold new to its first caretaker in southern California, where it resided for the majority of its life. The GT has received a considerable amount of attention over the past 6 years with no expenses spared! Finished in the timeless Rosso Corso over black interior upholstery, the Dinos recent restoration work began in 2005 with a complete repaint and replacement of the lower door skins along with the addition of more subtle European side markers. The car then received an extensive mechanical rebuild by Wayne Obry at Motion Products, upping the internally modified and blueprinted engines performance to over 250 dyno tested horsepower. Further restoration work completed at the end of October 2011 included the removal, blasting, re-insulating and painting of fuel tank with new lines and hoses, a thorough brake and suspension rebuild, ceramic coated headers, rebuild of the front-rear hubs and axles, new clutch-flywheel as well as a complete motor rebuild among others. All work was performed by an Authorized Ferrari dealer. The cabin presents quite nicely, complimenting the freshly detailed engine bay and undercarriage. With documented ownership from new, along with all recent servicing and restoration receipts, the Dino comes complete with tools and roll, jack kit, owners manual, parts book with leather carrying pouch and a history-service binder. One of the ultimate Ferraris of the 1970s, the Dino combines the dynamics of a mid-mounted engine with an understated Italian design and delivers a driving sensation only a Ferrari can bring! Dinos are becoming highly sought after by collectors and this is one of the best driving examples we have ever come across. We encourage, and are happy to arranged inspections.
