The Porsche 356 was the company's first production automobile. It was a lightweight and nimble handling rear-engine versatile sports car. Design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity. The last revision of the 356 was the 356C which was introduced for the 1964 model year. It featured disc brakes as well as an option for the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche had ever produced, the 95 hp (71 kW) "SC." This car is a matching numbers 1964 356 SC Coupe. This 356 is striking in it's original color combination of Ruby Red (color code 6402) with Black. This 356 has spent the majority of it's life in Southern California and has been in storage since 2003. Engine number 811479 Trans number 76233 "741/2c" Factory options: -Lockable antenna -One headrest -Ventilated chrome wheels -Exterior mirror -Luggage rack -Balance spring The paint is in excellent condition. The floors and battery box are original. There is no drive line noise, good suspension, new rear shocks, the engine and transmission are strong and there are good syncros in all gears. There are very good door gaps, and excellent headliner, visors, glass, seats and dash. All gages, lights and door locks are in good working order with the exception of the fuel gage. The original manual and jack, and two sets of original keys including the glove box key and transmissin lock key, will be presented to the new owner.
