Here at RK Motors Charlotte, we know all about over-the-top customs. You've seen the cars we've built, from Maximum Effect, our 1970 Charger, to that sinister all-black AAR Hemi 'Cuda which won trophies and stunned the Hot Rod Power Tour a few years ago. Heck, going too far and taking everything over-the-top is almost a rule around here.

So when this absolutely stunning 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda showed up, we realized that someone had just moved "the top" and beating this one will be a tough job indeed.

Nicknamed "Conviction 'Cuda," this car was built for the 2008 SEMA show in Las Vegas and is a take-no-prisoners, cost-no-object build that has resulted in one of the most visually and technologically stunning pro-touring cars we've ever featured. With contributions from all the biggest names in the business, this is a professionally built car that will win every show in which it is entered, and drives like a modern machine. Just pulling it out of the trailer drew a crowd in the parking lot, as if the rhythmic sound of the exhaust was the Pied Piper or something. You could study this car for 8 hours a day for a whole month and not see all the detailing that went into the construction, and you might want to bring an expert to see how deep the craftsmanship reaches. No corners were cut, no shortcuts were taken, and this car stands at the pinnacle of the pro-touring movement today. This car even has its own website at www.convictioncuda.com. In short, if you want to get to the top of the mountain, this is the king you're going to need to de-throne. Good luck with that.

First off, all of the body modifications-and there are many-have been done in steel. No fiberglass, no flexible stuff pulled from a mold, not even OEM pieces that have been adapted, just hand-formed steel. The first things I noticed were the subtle beads on the rear valence that mimic the rocker panel blisters. Then I saw how the rear spoiler had been molded into the fender, and the custom made hood with OEM-looking nostrils. Heck, we have photos of them laying out wooden blocks on the rear deck to create bucks for the spoiler fabrication. Look closer and you'll see flush-mounted glass, shaved door handles and drip rails, and newly fabricated front and rear valence panels.

Of course, the basics are 100% 'Cuda, starting with an original car and built from a bare steel shell. The car was stripped bare and every panel that wasn't perfect was removed and replaced with an exact reproduction. New quarters were installed, but they weren't installed stock-the side marker lights were shaved and the upper areas were adjusted to fit the giant tires. Of course, you'd need a stock 'Cuda next to this one to see all the modifications, but the total of the work is a car that keeps everyone guessing and absolutely steals every show it enters.

Part of the show-stealing is certainly due to the paint job. Done in PPG Silver Star and Vibrants Purfect Purple with a lot of airbrush work, the car is visually arresting in person. You think you've seen show-quality paint? Guess again. If there's a flaw in this paint job, I can't find it. The finish is the result of hundreds of hours of bodywork, top-quality finishes, and another several hundred hours of wet sanding and buffing every square inch-hell, it even appears that the underside of the hood has been wet sanded and buffed. Then there's the unique strobe stripe, which is paint, not a decal, and is a combination of air brush techniques and pinstriping that gives it an almost three-dimensional look that seems to be vibrating off the metal.

Out back, you've undoubtedly noticed the custom-made rear panel that houses custom taillights that look an awful lot like standard 'Cuda items, but are actually hand-made LED lights that give it a modern look at night. Up front, Harley-Davidson twin-bulb modular headlights are brilliant in any sense of the word, and a custom grille insert has been created to mimic the original, but with turn-signal indicators molded into the grille itself. Brake cooling ducts have been integrated into the lower valence, while out back, diffuser ducts evacuate air from under the car and generate downforce at high speeds. Mirrors are from a Chrysler Crossfire, and, well, I'll let you spend some time with the car and discover the rest. There's just so much to see, we can't possibly include it all here.

There was never any doubt when this project started that this car would be Hemi-powered. But that's not a 50-year-old chunk of cast iron in the engine bay. No, a car of this caliber needs cutting-edge technology to go with the horsepower, so a modern 6.1-liter Hemi was selected instead. It's an Arrington-built piece that cranks out more than 525 horsepower (that's 100 horsepower more than the legendary 426 Hemis of yore), and does it in a smaller, lighter, and more user-friendly package. Forget tuning carburetors and fouled spark plugs, the only thing this car needs from you is someone to turn the key and press the red START button on the center console. Continuing the strobe stripe theme under the hood, you'll find some custom covers for the radiator and coils that mimic the three-dimensional detailing on the body. The intake has been polished for a little bit of eye candy under the hood, while the wiring and plumbing has been carefully hidden for a super-sanitary look. Power steering and power brakes are definitely part of the equation, as is a high-output alternator to keep the car's electronics happy.

Just as a carburetor would be out of place on the engine, a 4-speed just wouldn't do underneath. Instead, there's a Keisler 5-speed with overdrive that makes the most of the engine's prodigious horsepower. Out back, a Chrysler 8.75-inch rear holds 3.91 gears on a limited slip. This will accelerate hard enough to break fingers, and can still climb to speeds once reserved for aircraft on the big end. The suspension features massive sway bars and cockpit-adjustable air shocks from Air Ride for a 21st century ride inside that vintage 1970 shape. Brakes are from Baer, and feature massive vented and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. Those openings in the front fascia aren't just for show, either-they actually feed the front brakes a steady supply of cool air. Long tube headers dump into a stainless steel X-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers before terminating in custom tips molded into the rear valence. The floors are undercoated because the original intent was to build a car to drive before things got, well, a little out-of-hand. The perfect hot-rod profile and stance is achieved by a set of polished 18- and 20-inch Bonspeed Quasar wheels on 245/40/18 front and 295/35/20 rear Nitto Invo tires.

On a build of this magnitude, you know there's a ton of documentation. We have extensive build photos, drawings, sketches, and other development details that are seldom seen in the finished product-concept cars often go directly from the designer's imagination to the show floor. You can see how this car evolved and the designer's intent throughout the process, and it's fascinating to compare it to the finished product. Build photos take you through every step of construction, from a bare shell to finished product on the stand at the 2008 SEMA show.

There's no question this is a very special car and that its existence has moved the bar for top-line pro-touring customs. If you're the sort of person who wants to own only the best, and understands that quality doesn't compromise, then you're already familiar with what this car has to offer. Stunning to look at, thrilling to drive, and exceptional to show, Conviction 'Cuda is the current state-of-the-art in pro-touring. This is a car that will remain timeless thanks to smart design and immaculate craftsmanship, and in 20 years, it will still draw crowds like it does today-great cars are like that. It's expensive, yes, but I'll wager it cost even more to build and that there are no more than a handful of craftsmen in the country who could duplicate it. That's because, in a market where investment grade cars and hobby cars are becoming increasingly polar, these high quality recreations are the best way to get the thrill of owning an otherwise unobtainable piece of automotive history. This top notch Yenko tribute is a complete, road ready big block car which features a date correct 427, an original Black Houndstooth interior, correct exterior paint and a fresh nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. There's no question that the '69 Camaro is one of the best looking muscle cars of all time. Throw in a slick coat of correct GM code 72 Hugger Orange paint and an authentic race-inspired Yenko decal kit, and it becomes one seriously lust-worthy piece of automotive art. Naturally, all this car's top notch eye candy rides on a clean and arrow straight body which presents solid, dent-free panels with better-than-new fit and super narrow gaps. And its rugged two-stage urethane provides the kind of dynamic finish and glossy shine that will emphasize the car's power and attitude for years to come. As most of you already know, Yenko Camaros were not traditional Super Sport or Rally Sport cars. Instead, they were base model F1s that Don Yenko ordered in batches with various cosmetic trim and appearance upgrades. The exterior of this highly detailed tribute is most similar to the first batch of 50 COPO cars delivered to Yenko Chevrolet in mid-January 1969. At the front of the car, a stainless trimmed and gray painted grille hangs modern halogen headlights above a showroom fresh chrome bumper, crystal clear parking lights and an optional D80 chin spoiler. At the top of that grille, a familiar "Camaro by Chevrolet" emblem fronts a functional ZL2 cowl induction hood which wears bright chrome "427" emblems. And a the sides of that grille, sculpted front fenders carry factory "Camaro" scripts above red, white and blue "Yenko" emblems. At the top of the car, like-new glass is cleared by matte finished wipers, topped by new chrome drip rails and framed by fresh, dent-free stainless trim. And at the sides of the car, standard stainless rocker moldings and straight stainless wheel well trim perfectly complement traditional chrome door handles, a correct chrome driver's side mirror and Yenko optioned Rally Sport rear fender louvers. At the back of the car, an option D80 rear decklid spoiler aligns perfectly with a Yenko optioned satin black rear valence. And clear '69 Camaro exclusive tail lights illuminate a second showroom fresh chrome bumper which hangs between spotless stainless exhaust tips and correctly placed "Yenko" and "427" emblems.

While the exterior of the famed Yenko Camaros is a story all its own, what really made these cars special is what lived between their fenders. Lift this car's bright orange hood and you'll find a date correct iron block 427 which has been restored to a highly accurate, showroom fresh appearance. At the top of that block air flows from a correct open element air cleaner, which is adorned with a new 427 cross-flag decal, into a coated Holley 4-barrel carburetor and a modern aluminum Chevrolet intake manifold. At the sides of that intake, spectacular finned aluminum valve covers hang multi-colored Yenko emblems above fully restored cast iron exhaust manifolds. And at the back of those valve covers, a rebuilt points distributor sends fire through correct Packard TV R Suppression wires. Cooling is provided by a Yenko-spec Harrison heavy duty radiator which sends water through reproduction GM hoses and fresh tower clamps. And, since this Camaro came with factory equipped power steering and power disc brakes, an appropriately tagged Delco Moraine brake booster hangs on the firewall and a correct power steering pump is bolted to the left side of the engine block. Aesthetically, the satin black engine compartment is exceptionally clean, and thus far, hasn't even had enough time to build up a thin layer of dust on the Chevy Orange block. All the car's correct paint daubs, chalk marks and decals are present and accounted for. And details like a tagged Delco Energizer battery, a factory equipped windshield washer tank and a Chevy Orange thermostat housing add the kind of finishing touches that'll make you want to pop the lid every time you park the car.

Although you could get a Yenko with a slushbox, the vast majority were equipped with tough M21 Muncie 4-speeds. And this particular Camaro, which has been upgraded with a virtually indestructible Borg Warner ST-10, spins a correct 12 bolt Posi-traction rear end and tire shredding 3.90 gears via a correctly detailed driveshaft. That rear end hangs on restored leaf springs and brand new shocks which help give the car its crouching stance; and that transmission rides just behind a restored double A-arm front suspension which features fresh shocks, correct factory optioned power steering and correct factory optioned power disc brakes. At the center of the car, a thrill inducing soundtrack roars through a fresh Gardner exhaust system which accurately duplicates the car's original chambered pipes. And at the corners of the car, era correct 15 inch American Racing Torque Thrust D wheels wear a fresh set of E70-15 Goodyear Wide Tread GTs. Even though the bottom of this Camaro has been professionally detailed to include a full set of factory accurate paint daubs, chalk marks and inspection stickers, its fully restored chassis is completely sorted and ready to hit the road. What's not to love about a classic that you can show AND enjoy?

Inside this pristine Yenko tribute, it's 100% Camaro; and that's always a good thing! Original GM code 713 Black Houndstooth upholstery features an OEM feel that simply can't be duplicated by today's best restoration products. An optional Z87 deluxe interior package, which includes unique stainless trimmed door panels, wood grain dash applique and bright pedal trim, amps up the visual appeal. And bold "YSC" headrest decals provide just the right amount of detail to elevate an already impressive cockpit to a whole new level. In front of the driver, a good looking black dash hangs beautifully restored gauges, an electric clock and controls for the cars heater above bright wood grain trim and a correct Delco AM radio. Below that dash, an optional center console props a completely chrome Hurst short throw shifter above great looking wood faced and chrome trimmed accent plates. Below that console like-new black carpet, which is bordered by chrome Fisher Body sill plates and protected by black rubber floor mats, anchors traditional GM lap belts. At the sides of the seats, black deluxe door panels are decorated with excellent looking stainless trim and correct white inlayed "Camaro" emblems. And above the seats a tight black headliner, which retains all of its color, centers a chrome trimmed dome light between fade-free shoulder belts. Connecting the driver to the road is a fully restored factory steering wheel which spins a blue bowtie and great looking wood applique around a factory tilt steering column. And behind the cockpit, an accurately restored trunk holds a correct jack and full-size spare tire between fresh decklid decals and a new houndstooth mat.

If a Super Sport is just too ordinary and you really dig the magical appeal of that storied 4, 2, and 7 number combination, this high quality Yenko is just what you need! Building one to the show-worthy level of this car will cost a lot more than our asking price; and even if you started today, it would be at least a year before it started to resemble a finished car. WHITE STAR, THERE’S NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT:

The owners of this outstanding property in La Moraleja considered several options before deciding to purchase what today is their home.

They knew that the situation of the plot in the housing estate would be the key to make their final decision.  As America real estate agents usually say, there are key elements when assessing a real estate asset: ”location, location, location”.

Consequently, it was not the plot that led to any doubts regarding the project, but the refurbishment, as this was a thirty year old house that was quite different to what they wanted: a large detached house in line with the latest trends and with specific requirements set by the new owners. After an in-depth study of the structure and possibilities of the original building, it was decided that it had to be demolished, so as not to limit the possibilities of the project.

Based on these premises, this spectacular detached house rose like a phoenix from the ashes representing the owners’ success, elegance and vitality: a circumspect and formal approach based on the logical distribution of large spaces and generous volumes where the perfect execution of each element was a goal in itself.  Unique construction elements, like its open structure, providing total freedom to change the lay-out by eliminating columns, increasing the value of a property that developed from a rational view to an emotional conclusion and not vice versa.  

The white Colmenar stone façade, the black slate roof finished with copper gutter and eaves and the landscaping, elegantly add to each other in a uniform combination. The well thought, symmetrical, rational and bright spaces create a sophisticated but pleasant and peaceful feeling.  The interior design, by Marian Siero from the Pedro Peña studio, is based on the eighties and creates new trends with a view to providing the necessary feeling. 

The building measures about one thousand square metres on two main floors, attic and basement.  The entrance level features a large hall which occupies, given its volume, both main floors and becomes the connection point to the rest of the house: a staircase that transmits a feeling of lightness thanks to its suspended steps and glass banister connects the different floors, the same as the lift located in this area.  From the entrance hall, we have direct access to the study, the living room and the kitchen area.  The large windows in the hall provide light to an important part of the house, connecting it with the exterior.

* Logging - Have you ever played Paul Bunyan and actually felled a 50-150 foot pine tree?  The energy created when this mammoth comes crashing to earth will definitely get your attention.  We do this as part of our forest-thinning and clean-up project.  With over a million trees, a few die each year for various causes and must be removed to lower the chances of a destructive forest fire.  We harvest those trees for firewood on the ranch.  You can fell the tree the old-fashioned way with an ax or with a chain saw, and if you only want to observe your guide will be more than happy to fell the tree. Afterwards, you can count the growth rings to see how old the tree was.  The current record is 362 years old.

This stunning villa  has an expansive, panoramic view of the crystal clear Aegean Sea. When you want to draw strong connections between your NASCAR efforts and your street cars (you know, the whole “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” thing), there’s no better way to do it than to build a show stopping custom. And when you’re a company like Toyota, the end result is a stunning Camry that packs NASCAR-levels of horsepower in a gorgeous 2-door coupe body. Built in cooperation with TRD, the experts here at RK Motors drew on some pretty impressive fabrication skills to create the Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition you see here.

Working with detailed technical specifications and a series of illustrations, this entire car was fabricated from scratch, and showcases the strong technical alliance between Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and RK Motors Design/Build. It debuted at the 2010 SEMA show, and was on display during the NASCAR race weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. It was also part of the TRD display at the LA Auto Show November 19-28, 2010, the North American International Auto Show in Detroit January 15-23, 2011, and will be on the road at many NASCAR races in 2011.

Similarities to the full-race Camry you see racing on the big ovals every Sunday are not mere coincidence. The exterior shell of the vehicle is a custom 2010 Camry two-door coupe, fabricated entirely in steel by RK Motors’ expert metalsmiths. Using the body as a canvas, we installed several racecar features including a custom NASCAR-inspired body kit, Toyota grill (note that the holes are actually Toyota emblems), carbon fiber brake ducts with fog lights, and TRD emblems. Other trick details include the NASCAR-style side exhaust system, carbon fiber rear-view mirrors, and that faired-in deck lid spoiler. With expert craftsmanship, the custom parts and OEM components blend seamlessly—note details like the fuel filler door, the Camry taillights, and the door handles, which are all straight off the assembly line. The paint job is a show-quality two-tone that emphasizes the car’s muscular shape. It has been expertly applied, the wet sanded and buffed to an incredible shine, necessary under the bright lights of SEMA.

Underneath the exterior shell sits a powerful TRD NASCAR V8 engine that displaces 358 cubic inches and delivers a cackling 680 horsepower at 8500 RPM. The beautifully finished engine features a custom air cleaner housing with dual conical air filters, with a paint scheme that matches the exterior of the car. NASCAR tricks abound, from the fuel pressure gauges mounted on the firewall, to the remote reservoirs for the brakes and clutch, to the massive billet aluminum strut tower brace that spans the front of the engine bay. And yes, before you ask, the engine is fuel injected, not carbureted, and uses distributorless ignition to light the fires. Making it street friendly meant adding A/C, power steering, and a reliable serpentine belt system, which makes this car as comfortable as a stock Camry in the day-to-day grind. Up front, a massive radiator with electric fans keep the potent engine cool, and you’ll note that the engine has been set as far back as possible to improve weight distribution. Looking at the detailing throughout the underhood area, it’s awfully hard to remember that this is a hand-built car, not something off a production line. Detailing is certainly impressive, but even more amazing is how OEM it all looks.

The engine is mated to a Tremec T-56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission with a Ram dual-disc street clutch. With a deep overdrive, the potent engine is capable of pushing the slippery shape of the street car deep into NASCAR territory. Racecar handling is achieved through modified MacPherson struts in the front and a Venza-modified multi-link independent rear suspension. Shocks are single-adjustable race pieces with coil-overs. The high performance of the NASCAR Camry can be heard through a custom three-inch exhaust with X-pipe, Thrush mufflers, Quicktime performance cut out, custom side exhaust tips and high temperature Turbo Black coating by H.M. Elliot Inc. The car sits on TSW Jarama wheels that measure 20 x 8.5 inches up front and 20 x 10 in the rear, and are fitted with 245/35/20 front and 285/30/20 rear Michelin Pilot tires.

Inside, The NASCAR Camry is far more luxurious and comfortable than its NASCAR namesake, and includes such niceties as a full-sized rear seat. Modified with leather-covered door panels, a suede headliner with integrated rear tweeters, and leather-covered power seats with billet TRD logos, it is as comfortable and well-appointed as any Camry on the road today. The two-tone leather ties in with the exterior paint scheme, and shows no signs of wear. The dashboard and steering wheel are production pieces, while a billet shifter and SPEK gauges by Propart mounted above the center stack give it a high-performance look. Comfort is enhanced with air conditioning provided by Vintage Air, and for added safety a four-point roll cage was installed. Other details that give it an OEM feel are little details like the trunk and fuel door release on the floor, the overhead lighting, and power windows and locks. A Pioneer AVIC-2110BT DVD/NAV receiver was selected, while Boston Acoustics supplied two GT-275 75w amps, four GT-475 75w amps, two pair of SR-60 two-way 6.5 component speakers and a G212-44 12-inch subwoofer. Together, these components are able to counter the throaty sound of the engine and deliver crisp, clear performance that you’ll have to hear to believe.

Of course, the trunk is fully lined and finished like any Camry’s, further blurring the line between race car and street car. A custom bulkhead mounts the audio system’s components, yet still leaves plenty of room for a few suitcases—more proof that this is a no-compromises build.

It is incredibly rare for an automaker to participate in a project like this, and most custom projects like this are handled in-house. In the case of the NASCAR Camry, Toyota joined RK Motors to build something that is more than just a cool coupe. It’s fast, comfortable, and fully sorted throughout, with a ton of easily recognized DNA running through its veins. It showcases both RK Motors’ design/build capabilities and Toyota’s significant commitment to success in NASCAR. Look for it on the TRD display at many of the major auto shows and NASCAR races during 2011.

JUST REDUCED!!!! (was $110,000) - Rare and Street legal - The Ultima GTR has become a by-word on the British performance motoring scene. It has everything going for it - world records to its name, power, speed, reliability and mean, purposeful looks. Designed as the successor to the very successful Ultima Sport, the GTR was a highly modified evolution built to move the Hinckley, Leicestershire concern into the 21st Century. The GTR was launched in 1999, after a full 14-month development period, in which the company beavered over a new design, and new engineering practices for their new model. Ted Marlow decided that, for the new car, the Sport tag was too tame, and as such the GTR name was coined. Although the Sport looked stunning when unveiled in the early-1990s, it was beginning to look a bit dated by the dawn of the new Century. Marlow and his team used a Sports bodyshell as a base, and set about sharpening the curves and reshaping areas such as the doors and centre section. The moulds were taken from a full-scale clay buck. Under the newly-restyled skin, the 5.7 litre Chevrolet V8 was retained, and from launch American Speed Enterprises were the recommended engine suppliers. The car was to be supplied in 'turnkey' form, which meant that the car was fully built but not yet road registered, or kit form, for the customer to built themselves. This gave the customer the option to choose another powerplant for the car - a practice which Ultima don't condone. The power was delivered to the road via a Porsche G50 five-speed manual gearbox, or a Getrag manual system - two of the toughest gearboxes to cope with the high performance - as per Ultima tradition. The GTR featured a number of changes over the outgoing Sport, which included the addition of an FIA approved rollcage, a larger radiator, a change in damper length, revised wishbones, a new wiring loom, severe modification to the fuel system and redesigned gearbox mountings, to name but a few. Inside, a revised air conditioning unit was fitted where specified, along with a radio and a 6-CD changer, bringing the cabin up to almost luxurious standard, banishing the stripped-out racer look of the earlier models. All the changes were complimented by the addition of Ultima's first alloy wheel design, penned entirely in-house. The new wheels were created specifically for the car, and removed any compromises Ultima had to make with mass-produced wheels. In 2000, Ultima heralded a new method in body production, which is used only by themselves. The Ultima bodies are produced in glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), which is polished to give a smooth finish. Since the GRP is produced with the body colour in it, an Ultima GTR or Can-Am never requires painting. All this is topped off with a clear coat of gel. Also in 2000, Ultima conducted another experiment into the use of carbon fibre as a bodywork material - just as it had done with the Sport in the mid-nineties - and although this experiment produced a desireable bodyshell, it was too expensive for such little gain, and was barely lighter than the standard gel-coat GRP body. In 2004, Ultima released the GTR640, featuring a 640BHP engine. This was surpassed in 2006 with the GTR720, powered by a 720BHP Chevrolet V8. The Ultima GTR has proved a roaring success for the company, and by 2003 Ultima had produced over 400 cars in total. The GTR has proven itself as a very quick car, and Ultima has used the demonstrators to beat a number of speed records. They are as follows: 2006 - GTR640 beats 0-100-0 mph record, recording a time of 10.3 seconds. 2006 - MIRA tests reveal that a GTR640 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 2.7 secs, 0-100 in 5.5 secs and 0-150 in 11.8 secs. Other figures include; 30-70 mph in only 2.0 secs and a top speed of 231 mph. 2006 - GTR beats its own 0-100-0 mph record, with a run of 9.8 seconds. The Ferrari Enzo does it in 10.9 secs, the Porsche Carrera GT in 11.6 secs. 2006 - GTR720 beats, again, its 0-100-0 mph record, doing it in 9.4 seconds. 2006 - GTR720 records a 9.9 second quarter mile.
